Bilal KHETTAB is a photographer and a graphic designer from Algeria –Sidi Bel Abbès
His Work Characterized by simplicity and beauty ; he know exactly how to deal with colors especially that he use in his photos a camera phone «  iphone « however that , his work is very very clever and professional ..
Bilal is My friend in FB , and i follow his work for a while , so i decide to do a interview with him to know more about his talent and discover more how he can develop himself by himself ..

1- firstly , tell us more about yourself .

Hi, thanks for having me here, I really appreciate it
Adding to all of what you said about me, I’m 23yo and a biology student (I know it’s a bit odd for someone who is extremely interested in arts) and I’m drinking coffee while writing this, I have a drinking problem yeah :D

2- How you start Loving The design and photography .

I guess the only one who made me love design is my big brother who is an civil engineer, he was passionate about 3D design and motion graphics and that’s how I started my journey with animation design since I was 16.

3- Why you chose “ biology”  your special studying ?

Well, you know in Algeria there isn’t proper schools for graphic design that I could sign up for. I choose biology just to have a backup plan in life. The one who made me love it was a teacher from high school. I love discovering different aspects in life.

4- Did you go to school to study photography or designing? How long have you been a photographer and designer? What or who got you started?

Just like lots of designers out there, I learned design and photography all by myself, following online courses, practicing a lot and doing lots of work free since I was a teenager.

5- How would you describe your style?

I think I can’t describe it by myself, it’s up to my audience ;)

6- What type of cameras do you shoot with?

I shoot only with the lens my iPhone 5s.

7- The most of designers they are photographers too , but not all the photographers are designers , in your thinking why is that ?

Emm that’s interesting, I noticed that too. I guess when you master design very well, you start getting an idea of how you deal with colors, composition, contrast and other stuff...

8- A photographer who inspires you?

More than 4 years ago I’ve been following an account called “Cuba Gallery” on Flickr, the colors he produces are simply amazing.

Now I follow a lot of designers and photographers to keep myself surrounded by inspirations.

9- A website and/or blog you visit often?

I don’t follow blogs that much but Ultralinx and Abduzeedo comes to my mind since you asked me. I visit Medium often.

10- Is there anybody or anything you would love to photograph?

Nothing in specific, beautiful moments and scenes come with time by themselves.

11- What advice do you have for somebody who wants to pursue photography?

Don’t be shy when you take photos. Some moments don’t repeat themselves.

12- Can you tell us the true basis of your inspiration?

As I mentioned earlier, I keep myself surrounded by great designers from all over the world, doesn’t has to be strictly to graphics or photography, but also architecture, furniture… etc

13- What talent would you most like to have?

Playing the piano

14- Your favourite film (movie) of all time?

Amélie.

15- Your favourite Book .

The Design of Everyday things by Don Norman

16- If you could live anywhere on this awesome planet, where would you build your dream home?

I would say Iceland. I just looove the landscapes there.

17- What would you like to be doing in 5 years from now?

I would like to work in a big design studio as an art director.

18- Did you participate in any competitions or Art gallery ? tell us about this experience

I hate competitions.

19- A last word , and a advice you like to say it to all friends of Smartchou Blog
